School District No.22 Scholarship Showcase and Competition |

Students of art, drama, music, dance, trades, media, culinary arts, photography and technology will have an opportunity to showcase their talents and hard work as they compete for one of the thirty-eight $1000.00 scholarship awards that will be presented following the School District 22 District Project Scholarship Competition. The event has grown better each year and this year will be presented at the Performing Arts Centre and Rec Centre over three days, April 25th to 27th, 2012.

| The students have been working on their projects for a good portion of the year, with some of the projects spanning multiple years. They have been working with dedicated sponsor teachers who offer them ongoing support, advice and guidance. Aside from the performances described above, all participants assemble a display that shows their work and completed projects to others. This part of the competition will take place at the Vernon and District Recreation Centre, and will be open to the public on Thursday, April 26th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and Friday, April 27th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. | ||

The District Project Scholarships are open to all grade 12 students at the five secondary schools in the Vernon School District. The Ministry of Education provides each winning recipient with an award of $500.00 upon wining the scholarship competition and another $500.00 when the student enrolls at a post secondary institution. |
