The District Parent Advisory Council act as advocates for parents and children in all the district schools. DPAC members participate on various school district committees such as School District Staff Selection, Safe Schools, District Calendar, Healthy Living, and the District Achievement Contract.
We advise on district initiatives that impact parents and their children such as policies on Healthy Living, Corporate Sponsorship, School Planning Councils, and School Fees.
DPAC also helps parents in the school district become more familiar with the services of the District. We organize parent education forums on curricular and non-curricular topics such as literacy, numeracy, Assessment for Learning, internet safety, study skills, emotional intelligence, suicide awareness, and the BCCPAC Provincial Advocacy Project, just to name a few. DPAC leaders are available, on request, to assist individual PAC's with education and leadership information, and to provide links to valuable resources.
