Reporting to Parents by Elementary Schools
Three formal reports are issued each year. Due to the diversity of school schedules, each elementary school will establish its own schedule for issuing formal reports. Two informal reports are required each year. The following guidelines should be applied:
1 st informal report – parent-teacher interview days may be considered an informal report
2 nd informal report – may be issued in February. Early dismissal is appropriate when students, parents and teachers are involved in Student Led Conferences or traditional parent-teacher conferences.
Schools must establish a form of record keeping.
Relevant Ministry policies are contained in Policy Circular 97-04 ‘Student Reporting’. |
Kindergarten
Classes may be closed for two full days in the Fall and two full days in the Spring for interviews. As in the past, this is not prescriptive. Some schools may not wish to use the days in the Spring.
Reporting to Parents by Secondary Schools
Due to the diversity of school schedules and timetables, each secondary school will establish it’s own schedule of formal and informal reporting and Parent Teacher Interviews.
Relevant Ministry policies are contained in Policy Circular 97-04 ‘Student Reporting’ |
