Completion of Parking Lot

“The Coldstream Elementary school replacement project is almost completed. The parking lot and bus loop are scheduled to be completed for the last week of April 2011.

The new school construction started in July 2009 and was ready for the students and staff move in on November 2010. This is a one storey school with a daylight basement and has floor area of 3250m2. There are 15 classrooms, two kindergarten rooms, kitchen, gymnasium, library, multipurpose space and the administration areas.

This school has a geothermal system and lighting control system to reduce energy consumption and will provide operating cost savings. The design has been to a LEED Gold standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

The exterior will have a full size sports field, paved basketball and play area, and two playground equipment zones.”
