Welcome to School District No. 22 (Vernon) .
Located in the Okanagan Valley of south central British Columbia, School District No. 22 (Vernon) serves the communities of Vernon, Coldstream, Lavington, Lumby, and Cherryville. As a dynamic public education system, the District provides excellent educational services to approximately 8,500 students and 300 adults. These services include a strong International Program, an elite athlete High Performance Program, a vibrant French Immersion Program, a growing Montessori Program, new and exciting Distributive Learning Courses, a strong Aboriginal presence, and opportunities for Trades Training and Secondary Apprenticeships.

The District’s motto, “A Great Place to Learn” epitomizes the wonderfully rich opportunities our geographical location offers our students and staff as they pursue life long learning in their communities. Kindergarten Registration January 30 - February 3, 2012
The Board of Education and School District No. 22 (Vernon) would like to welcome those children entering the school system this year.  The Kindergarten program operates for the full day on every school day. Priority in attending a specific school will be given to students living in the applicable catchment areas.

A member of the Lakota Nation, Dr. Brokenleg is a world renowned speaker who speaks about reclaiming youth and building a positive environment for youth at risk. Student Transfers February 15, 2012
School District No. 22 (Vernon) is currently making plans for the upcoming school year.  We wish to remind parents of the following: in accordance with School District Policy 9.11.0, students who wish to transfer to another school beginning September 2012, must make application to transfer no later than February 15, 2012 to be given consideration.

SWB-A uses online learning, webinars, skype, state of the art software, dynamic student travel abroad, camp setting, field study, Smithsonian Tropical Research Institues, language study in Spanish, and indigenous peoples studies exploring Embera and Kuna Culture.
