Ready Set Learn in Elementary Schools March 5 - 13
Ready Set Learn is an early childhood project sponsored by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Children & Family Development and the Ministry of Health

Elementary Schools hosted Open Houses for 3 year old preschoolers and parents from March 5 - 13, 2012. Children had a chance to participate in play activities and stories while parents learned about childhood milestones. All participants received an information package which also included a story book, crayons, scissors and glue for their child.

Student Transfers February 15, 2012
School District No. 22 (Vernon) is currently making plans for the upcoming school year.  We wish to remind parents of the following: in accordance with School District Policy 9.11.0, students who wish to transfer to another school beginning September 2012, must make application to transfer no later than February 15, 2012 to be given consideration.

Kindergarten Registration January 30 - February 3, 2012
The Board of Education and School District No. 22 (Vernon) would like to welcome those children entering the school system this year.  The Kindergarten program operates for the full day on every school day. Priority in attending a specific school will be given to students living in the applicable catchment areas.

Achievement Contract 2011-2012

The School Act requires each Board of Education in British Columbia to prepare and submit to the Minister of Education, an Achievement Contract with respect to standards for student performance and plans for improving achievement in the district. The Achievement Contract is a public statement of commitment by a Board of Education to improve success for each student in the district.

RCMP Jean Minguy Memorial Youth Academy - Application Deadline Jan 27, 2012

The RCMP Youth Academy is a wonderful opportunity for students in grade 11 or 12  to participate in a unique work experience in policing.

Schools open for classes on Tuesday September 6.  This will be a shortened day with buses running 3 hours early.

IMPORTANT BUSSING INFORMATION

School Supplies
Most elementary schools within the district offer students supplies for the school year at these nominal fees.

Beairsto and Cherryville Elementary schools do not provide school supplies. Parents can obtain the school supply list from those school websites.

All Secondary schools provide lists for their individual classes once school has started for the term.

Clarence Fulton - open 8 am–12 noon until July 15th; Closed from July 18th–August 5th;
Open 8 am–12 noon, August 8th–12th; Open regular hours (8 am–4 pm) beginning August 15th.
Kalamalka Secondary - 8 am-1 pm everyday, Closed July 11 to Aug. 1.
Open Door - July 5-July 28; Monday to Thursday 8 am - 12 noon, Closed Aug. 1 to Aug. 26th. Reopen Monday August 29; regular hours.
Vernon Secondary - 8:00 am til 2:00 pm Office closed statutory holidays.
W.L. Seaton - 7:30 am til 2:30 pm, Office closed July 18 to 22.
