BC Hydro scholarships are awarded to select B.C. students who are leaders and role models in their schools and communities. We look to support B.C. students who demonstrate a balanced lifestyle and commitment to a post-secondary education.

CAAWS will provide 12 grants in the amount of $900 each to girls and women and/or organizations offering sport programs targeted to girls and women who meet the grant criteria (see website).
One outstanding female and one outstanding male amateur athlete graduating from a BC Secondary School who is involved in either their community or school sports will be awarded the Jack Farley Youth Sports Achievement Award.

Loran Award
Formerly the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation
(CMSF)
The Loran Award is open to every graduating high school or cegep student from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Renewable for up to four years, it includes an annual tuition waiver and a stipend of $8,000, access to funding and internships through our summer program, invitations to annual gatherings and forums, and mentorship opportunities. The award is tenable at any of our partner universities.
For students entering post secondary institutions in B.C. and are related to a BCGEU member.
Western Canadian students with good marks and notable community service or extra-curricular activities
High School students who have distinguished themselves through environmental community service

Completed nominations, made by high school principals and are to be sent to the Associate Registrar, Student Financial Services, by March 1
University of Toronto The University of Toronto National Scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought and exceptional achievement in a broad context. The National Scholars will be those who not only excel in academic pursuits but also have an enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and an involvement in the life of their school and community. Each secondary school is invited to nominate one student, on the basis of these criteria, to receive a University of Toronto National Book Award. These students, and others who identify themselves as meeting the National Scholarship criteria, are invited to enter the National Scholarship Competition. Information and applications are sent to secondary schools in the spring; the application deadline is in the early fall of the student’s graduating year.
Students demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, and are planning on getting a 4 year B. Sc. Degree in Mineral Engineering

The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition was created to encourage and recognize young culinary talent. Its open to high school seniors across the US and Canada. The Best Teen Chef Competition awards, more than $200,000 worth of scholarship prizes to attend The Art Institutes.

Student demonstrating an outstanding academic record. Showing the ability to lead in and /or volunteer in community or school activities.
Student having demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills, and creative or original thinking. All applicants must be nominated by the school Principal or Principal's delegate.
Chancellor's Major Entrance Scholarship

In the US and Canada, DeVry offers scholarships to new students who meet specified criteria. For scholarship consideration, students are encouraged to apply for admission as soon as possible. Criteria, amounts and deadlines vary, please consult their website for more details.
Students who have been admitted on the basis of their high school grades.

SFU awards entrance scholarships to outstanding new students. We invite students who have applied for admission and have an average of 90% and above (or a minimum of 31 IB points) to apply to our major award competition held once a year (for entry to the Fall term). Major entrance scholarship winners are normally announced from mid-April through to the end of May.

Each Award honours one of 21 individuals that have made a significant contribution to the establishment of G.I.F.T.S. Each group of 4 scholarship winners will form a team and produce a video/film/animation that includes the theme of the Award - i.e. environmental, cinematography, etc.

Assessment of secondary school students is based on academic Grade 11 and 12 courses (or provincial equivalents for out-of-province students) required for admission to each faculty . Admission requirements are posted on the Undergraduate Admissions website.
