Highlighting Kidston Student Leadership Teams -
At Kidston Elementary School, student leadership teams play an important role in supporting school programs and strengthening the overall school community. Students take on a wide range of responsibilities, including supporting the recycling and compost programs, delivering morning announcements, organizing the pizza hot lunch program, serving as lunch monitors, participating in spirit‑day activities, and leading music as part of the school choir during whole‑school assemblies.
In addition, a group of Grade 2/3 students is demonstrating leadership through learning and sharing by writing their own land acknowledgements and presenting them during morning announcements and school assemblies. These experiences help students build confidence, responsibility, and a sense of purpose.
Across all leadership roles, students consistently demonstrate enthusiasm, reliability, and competence in organizing and carrying out their responsibilities. Leadership teams and clubs rotate membership throughout the year to ensure that as many students as possible have the opportunity to participate, learn new skills, and contribute to the school community. With guidance from teachers and administrators, students continue to grow their leadership abilities and take pride in the meaningful roles they play in helping Kidston Elementary function at a high level.
The school community is proud of these student leaders and grateful for the positive contributions they make each day.
